Over fall break we went camping with a few families in our ward. It was so much fun to get away and hang out with some friends. Rachel was very excited that a certain young man would be there, even if he did play more football than hanging out with her :) The only downside was that it was COLD at night - 37 degrees! Everyone else had RV's to stay in, and the other family that had a tent like us, crowded into an RV the 2nd night. That first night had to be one of the longest nights ever! Emily was moaning in her sleep from the cold. You could feel the cold seeping in from underneath. I was climbing around at 2:00 in the morning putting on their hoodies. Jon and I scrambled for towels and extra blankets. And the whole time I was thinking about the pioneers in 17 Miracles thinking, They would have killed to be in the situation I was in. The next night was much better - more layers for sleeping and extra blankets and sleeping bags borrowed from others.

Caleb's preschool class had a party at our house for Halloween. The kids were really excited and had a great time. We played hot pumpkin, plinko, pin the tie on dracula. They also made a spooky smile with apples and marshmallow teeth and a skeleton out of Q-tips Caleb's favorite activity was trying to eat the donut off the string. He started out so excited and then started to giggle once he realized it was a bit of a trick.

Carving the pumpkin - no picture of the finished product though!

Eyeball on a fork treats fro Rachel's class. The other kids were both having parties, but not Rachel's class. Since I was teaching art that day, I decided to bring some spooky treats along.
