San Diego Part 1 Legoland

Two years ago we heard that Legoland was free the last hour of the day. We went and found out it was true!! WE went on a couple of rides and then when the park closed, we had about an hour left to walk around and see the miniature stuff made of Legos. So while camping down the road at the beach, we decided to go again...telling the kids that we'd see if we could get in. Well - they've changed their policies. (And I've changed my old blog post so no one else will go expecting to get in) So almost taking our kids to Legoland gave Jon and I the meanest parents ever award. "Hey kids, let's go to Legoland." "We're almost there...doesn't it look fun." "OK, everyone back in the car." There was weeping and wailing and some teeth gnashed as well.Several days later, back at my sister's and finding some 'kids get in free w/adult' we redeemed ourselves and went. Best thing about Legoland: It is pretty much teen-ager free!! Other best thing: Our kids were the perfect age to go, well if Caleb had been 2 inches taller, it would have been perfect. But the kids are all really into Legos the last 6 months and Lego Star Wars (Blake is obsessed!) They just opened a mini-village of all the Star Wars movies and he LOVED it. Most Embarrassing Part: When Blake dropped his flip-flop into a fenced in area while waiting in line for the dinosaur roller coaster. Jon decided to quickly jump over the 5 foot high fence (you know to keep people from being under the roller coaster). He was over and back in line in about 15 seconds. Right after he jumped over, the ride stopped. The worker kept looking at us as everyone waited. After about 10 minutes, we decided to leave the line and go elsewhere.
Me with Harrison Ford. It really did look just like him! So we've been to Legoland - don't know that we ever need to go again. Feel like we pretty much saw or did everything we needed to do...unless they make it free again :)
